Dr. Nathaniel Lease

Performing Trombonist | College Faculty | Audition Specialist

Dr. Nathaniel Lease is a trombonist and educator specializing in alto, tenor, and bass trombone. He serves as Adjunct Instructor of Music at Hagerstown Community College and Penn State Mont Alto and maintains an active career as a freelance orchestral, chamber, and solo musician throughout the greater Washington, D.C. region.

A former Principal Trombonist of the Loudoun Symphony Orchestra, Dr. Lease has performed with numerous ensembles including the Mid-Atlantic Symphony Orchestra, Johnstown Symphony Orchestra, Symphony of the Potomac, Peacherine Ragtime Society Orchestra, and Market Street Brass. He has appeared as a soloist with the Hagerstown Municipal Band and presented the world premiere of Emerging from What at the American Trombone Workshop.

An experienced teacher and clinician, Dr. Lease serves on the faculty of multiple community music schools, where his students have earned placement in regional and all-state ensembles and gained admission to respected university music programs.

Dr. Lease holds a Doctor of Musical Arts from Shenandoah Conservatory, a Master of Music from the University of Delaware, and a Bachelor of Arts from Indiana University of Pennsylvania.
